You’ve tried just about everything, but the pain won’t go away. And to make it worse, it feels like no one truly understands what’s going on with your body. Pain doesn't have to be your new normal, and you don't need to figure it out alone.

Indepth Physical Therapy offers personalized treatment that can help. We take the time to understand you - not just your symptoms but your body as a whole. By delving deeper, we uncover the why, explore what's possible, and discover how to get there, together.

Understanding Pain

In most cases, pain is your body’s way of protecting you. It’s a normal response triggered when your brain perceives something as a potential threat. In essence, pain is your brain’s way of getting your attention, signaling that something might be important and may require action.

Multiple factors contribute to pain at once, including:

  • injury and tissue damage

  • inflammation

  • nervous system sensitization

  • muscle imbalances

  • stress

  • fatigue

  • feelings toward pain

  • knowledge about pain

That’s why understanding your pain means looking at your body holistically.

Understanding Lingering Pain

Chronic pain is pain that lasts longer than three months and may or may not have an identifiable cause. Sometimes, it’s linked to known issues like arthritis, autoimmune conditions, or muscle imbalances. Other times, it can occur without clear injury or damage, as the nervous system remains on high alert and interprets signals as threats, even after tissues have healed.

At Indepth Physical Therapy, we take a whole-person approach to managing chronic pain. Your therapist will consider all contributing factors - including your medical history, movement patterns, nervous system, sleep, nutrition, stress levels, and support system - when determining the best plan for you. Whether your pain has lingered for months or years, we’re here to help you find relief and feel more in control of your body again.
